Why Taco Bliss

Growing up in Southern California in the 1970s and 1980s,  Taco Bliss's founder (“El Jefe”) gained an appreciation for the culture and cuisine of first and second generation Mexican-Americans. Even though the area was full of beach themed “Taco Shops”, taquerias, and full service Mexican restaurants, El Jefe's passion for Mexican food developed from the cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers he met working in a conglomeration of restaurants.

In short, Taco Bliss has been 30+ years in the works.

Salsa Bar at Taco Bliss

After moving to Salisbury in 2008 as a marketing executive, he saw a gap in the accessibility of Mexican food like he remembered: especially the lack of a good hard-shell taco or spicy salsa de arbol! El Jefe may have left California, but his earth was quaking in 2016 when he was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease.   It cost him his career, but not his passion and talent for cooking and the restaurant industry.   While at times he was ready to surrender, he knew that out of disaster comes opportunity....

The musician Michael Franti has a lyric, “There’s a crack in the gutter where a flower grows. Reminded me that everything is possible. Reminded me that nothing is impossible.” Taco Bliss is that flower.

Our mission is simple, serve great Mexican food at a fair price in a fun environment that respects people, food, and the sanctity that comes when the two combine.

We hope to be a piece of your bliss!
